I was born Amanda Slighting and in 1994, through a spiritual transformation process, was given the name Prem Nidhi. This is a Sanskrit name which means Love (Prem) Treasure (Nidhi). I believe that this name was given to me in order for me to grow in my journey of loving and appreciating who I am. In 2000 I legally changed my name to Nidhi Amanda Chaitow. Chaitow is my ancestral name which comes from Latvia and means Chai (Life) and Tow (pronounced TOV, which means - Good). I appreciate and honour the meaning of my name and where it comes from.
I am a psychosocial counsellor and facilitator living on the Garden Route of South Africa. I am 59 years old and have experienced life as a daughter, sister, wife, mother, lover, and friend. The purpose of my journey to wholeness is to embody my work and way of being in the world based on the values of Love, Integrity, Kindness and Respect. I create my work deeply connected to Mother/Father God and this exceptional Earth and her ever evolving cycles.
I have created a Medicine Wheel of Wisdom that encapsulates the core of my work and where I gain meaning in everything that I do. Prem Nidhi embraces all aspects of me. I stand in the centre of my life and facilitate and guide my clients to do the same in an empowered way. I encourage them to connect consciously with themselves as individuals, with each other in the groups that I facilitate and with the rhythms and flow of their lives, connected with the collective conscious intelligence.
